The Kingsbury is a substantial, made-to-order garden planter handcrafted in our Atherstone workshop from thick PAR redwood timber. Designed as a premium alternative to lightweight mass-produced planters, it combines robust construction, clean detailing and extensive customisation for both residential and commercial spaces.
Premium Construction & Outdoor Finish
Each planter is individually made with carefully finished edges and concealed fixings for a clean, furniture-quality appearance. The timber is treated with a clear wood preservative before receiving a spray-applied exterior finish from our Ronseal colour collection, including natural timber tones and contemporary garden colours.

Kingsbury is available in Small, Medium and Large, with four configurations in each size:
Single • Double • Triple • Square
The range covers everything from compact individual planters to long troughs and larger square arrangements suitable for patios, entrances, gardens and commercial landscaping.
Custom dimensions are also available on request.
Removable Planting Inserts
Every Kingsbury includes removable plastic planting inserts matched to the selected size. These keep soil away from the timber and make planting, cleaning and future refinishing much easier.
When maintenance is required, the plant and liner can simply be lifted out together rather than emptying soil directly from the wooden planter.
Choose Your Finish
Select your preferred exterior colour when ordering. Because every planter is made individually, the finish can be coordinated with garden furniture, fencing, signage or a commercial colour scheme.
Optional Customisation
Kingsbury can be configured with additional features including:
- Matching Redwood Trellis – ideal for climbing plants, screening and decorative planting.
- Custom CNC Engraving – names, wording or personalised details can be incorporated into the timber.
- Heavy-Duty Caster Wheels – braked swivel casters can be fitted where easier repositioning is required.
More complex engraving, branding, trellis designs and other bespoke details can also be discussed before production.
Alternative Timbers & Bespoke Builds
Redwood is our standard material because it offers an excellent balance of outdoor performance, appearance and value. Kingsbury can also be commissioned in premium hardwoods such as oak or iroko, with iroko particularly well suited to exterior use thanks to its natural durability and stability. Alternative timbers are subject to specification and quotation.
We can also alter dimensions, trellis design, finish and other construction details for individual projects.
Residential & Commercial Projects
Kingsbury works equally well in private gardens as it does in pubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels and other commercial outdoor spaces.
Matching sets, custom sizing and larger multi-planter projects are available by quotation.
